Our theme comes with the Atomion Gutenberg Products Block plugin, which enables you to display products from your shop on pages and in posts. If you have not yet installed the plugin, please do so in the backend via Design -> Install Plugins. If the corresponding item is not displayed this probably means that the plugin has already been installed and simply needs to be activated.

NB: You don’t need the WooCommerce plugin WooCommerce Gutenberg Products Block. Please deactivate it if you have already installed it.

Once you have successfully installed and activated the Atomion Gutenberg Products Block it will be available to use in the Editor.

Permalink Configuration

The first step is to define which products you wish to display. You can opt to display all products, specific products/product categories, highlighted products, discounted products, top-selling products, top-rated products or products with specific attributes.

Once you have confirmed your selection a table containing the selected products will appear in the Editor. You can use the right-hand toolbar to edit the number of columns and rows displayed.

NB: The number of columns and rows you set only applies when products are displayed as a grid.

You also have the option to display the products as a slider. Simply select the Slider option under Display as. You won’t notice a difference in the Editor, but the products will be displayed as a slider in the frontend.

The last two settings – Activate Grey Background and Activate Offset – enable you to highlight the block. The first of the two settings gives the block a grey background, the second shifts the products slightly upwards and out of the block. Here again, the changes are only visible in the frontend and not in the Editor.

Permalink Switch to the new Atomion WooCommerce Blocks Plugin

Since version 1.1 of Atomion the new Atomion WooCommerce Blocks Plugin is available, which replaces the previous Atomion Gutenberg Products Block Plugin.

From version 1.1.1 of Atomion it will no longer be possible to install or update the old plugin Atomion Gutenberg Products Block.
You can still use your already created product blocks, but we recommend to install the new plugin Atomion WooCommerce Blocks, activate it and rebuild your product blocks bit by bit to prevent bugs.

Once you have recreated all your product blocks, you can deactivate and uninstall the old Atomion Gutenberg Products Block plugin. You can tell if all your product blocks come from the new plugin by the fact that none of them are deprecated/outdated anymore.

Inserting the new product blocks is now a bit different. There is no longer one product block, but a total of 8 different ones.

  • Products by Category: Displays products of a certain category
  • Top Rated Products: Displays the best rated products
  • Best Selling Products: Displays the best-selling products
  • Hand-picked Products: shows your selected products
  • On Sale Products: shows products that are on sale
  • Newest Products: Displays the latest products
  • Featured Product: here you can highlight a certain product
  • Products by Attributes: Displays products with certain attributes

You can find them in the Gutenberg Editor in the “WooCommerce” section or by typing in the word “product” when searching for a block.
Nothing has changed in the settings except that you now have the option to hide the product description.

So how do you best proceed now?

If you made an update to Atomion 1.1:

  • please update the plugin “Atomion Gutenberg Products Block”
  • install the new plugin “Atomion WooCommerce Blocks”
  • activate the new plugin “Atomion WooCommerce Blocks”
  • go through your pages and create your product blocks once new
  • then you can disable and uninstall the old plugin “Atomion Gutenberg Products Block”, the message “This theme recommends the following plugin: Atomion Gutenberg Products Block” can be ignored

If you are installing Atomion for the first time:

  • install the new plugin “Atomion WooCommerce Blocks”
  • activate the new plugin “Atomion WooCommerce Blocks”
  • ignore the old plugin “Atomion Gutenberg Products Block” in this case you don’t need to install it and you can ignore the message “This theme recommends the following plugin: Atomion Gutenberg Products Block”
