A new product type “Voucher” is available for the vouchers under “Products” when creating the product. Select the “Voucher” type and you will now see two new tabs “Voucher Settings” and “Voucher Template” in which you can configure the product.
Note on the taxation of vouchers:
Products of this type automatically receive the tax status “None”, as there is no immediate taxation when value vouchers are sold. Taxation only takes place when the voucher is redeemed.
We recommend that you consult a tax consultant in advance to ensure the correct taxation.
The image assigned under “Product image” is displayed on the product page as the product image. It may differ from the images in the voucher template and is independent of the images that were set when the voucher templates were created.
Permalink Voucher Settings
Minimum amount
The minimum amount determines the minimum value that the customer must enter.
Maximum amount
The maximum amount determines the maximum value that the customer can enter.
Default amount
The default amount determines the value that is automatically selected.
Validity Value
Enter the numerical value for the validity period of the voucher here. (By default, the voucher is valid for 3 years.) Enter “0” here if you want the voucher to be valid unlimitedly.
Validity Type
With this option, the validity type is selected in months/years.
Validity period from end of year
If this option is enabled, the validity period starts at the end of the year in which the voucher was created. This option can only be used for the validity type “Year(s)” and is enabled by default.
Example setting 3 years: Voucher was purchased in May 2025. This voucher must be redeemed by December 31, 2028 at the latest.
Display of the validity in the frontend
If this option is activated, the selected validity will appear on the product page.
Validity Value
The text for displaying the validity in the frontend can be customized and individualized here. The following placeholder {validity} displays the defined validity (validity value + validity type). Example:
Send voucher additionally to recipient
If this option is activated, the buyer can enter the recipient’s e-mail address on the product page during the ordering process:
Please note: Sending an e-mail to an unknown e-mail address is not permitted in Germany for data protection reasons and is therefore not recommended by us.
