New Plugin: WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout

vat 2015

For online shops selling digital products and services to EU countries apply new rules for VAT, starting January 1st. Our plugin WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout ensures the correct calculation and display of taxes.

With the new plugin your shop gets ready for the EU rules on sales tax. This applies from 1 January 2015 for the sale of digital products and services to the EU and to consumer (B2C).

Uniform retail prices for all consumers

WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout implements the use of uniform retail prices in your online shop. The plugin dynamically calculates the prevailing tax share as soon as the customer enters a billing address. This is based on the tax rate for digital products of the EU country of the recipient. You can enter and maintain the tax rates into WooCommerce. Our plugin provides the corresponding rates of VAT for EU countries.

WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout
uses mostly core features of WooCommerce to ensure maximum stability and compatibility with other plugins. After setup, only the newly created EU tax rate has to be assigned to all digital products. This is also possible via mass processing.

Individual calculation of VAT

For sales in the domestic – that is, in the configured base country – remains WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout “silent” and does not interfere with the prices or tax calculation. The prices in your shop and in the cart are displayed exactly as you have configured it. Only when selling to other EU countries, the automatic recalculation of the tax takes effect.

During the checkout process retail prices remain unchanged in order to ensure a transparent price view. The calculated VAT amounts are correctly accounted for individual items and totals, even within the e-mails from WooCommerce. More information can be found on the product page of WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout.

Note: With fixed retail prices and the individually calculated value added tax, the net price of your products is changing – and thus corresponding profit margin. The difference is according to the country. Our plugin takes these differences on purpose to avoid barriers as an upstream countries query could lead to abandoned shopping carts.

Compatible with WooCommerce German Market

WooCommerce EU VAT Checkout is fully compatible with our plugin WooCommerce German Market, which supports the legal security of your WooCommerce online shops in Germany and Austria. Both solutions will help in the implementation of legal requirements, without unnecessarily compromising the user experience for your customers.

    Hi,

I love this addon however I struggle with the settings. I get the wrong pricing after taxes. Although I choose to use price including tax and tax is being calculated, the total endprice is less than it should be on many occasions.

I.e. A salesprice incl. tax should be 19,99 but comes out as 16,52. This is causing very flexible pricing and is costing me money. The various taxrates should not influence the customer endprice..

Has anyone seen this issue? What am I missing here?
