The term “WordCamp” comes from “WordPress” and “BarCamp”. BarCamps are so called “Un-conferences” which can be attended by any private person or company. The oldest and largest annual WordCamp is WordCamp San Francisco.
Meetups are self-organised, local meetings where all kinds of people interested in and/or using WordPress come together to share experiences, learn, network and fellowship. Structure and contents of a meetup event are completely up to its organisers and visitors.
