Welcome Hamburg! Meet our new responsive WordPress theme for online stores and blogs

Moin Moin! That’s how people from Hamburg say hello. If you have ever been to Hamburg in northern Germany, you’ll know: that city is a real beauty. We love it so much that we have named our new shop and blog theme after her—the first one in a series of “city themes” we’re going to present to you later this year.

Hamburg, the WordPress theme, is based upon the rich tradition of trade of the Hanseatic city and supports the popular e-commerce plugin WooCommerce with built-in visual styles that load as soon as our theme senses the presence of the plugin. Of course, our own WooCommerce German Market is also fully supported.

We have had a legal expert examine our new theme Hamburg in combination with the plugins WooCommerce and WooCommerce German Market. Result: Theme Hamburg creates best conditions for a legally secure online store in Germany and worldwide.

Hamburg, my bonny…

Theme-Hamburg

Our goal for Hamburg was clear from the beginning: We wanted to develop a sleek, smart and powerful WordPress theme—lightweight enough to be enjoyable as a standard blog theme, and fully prepared at the same time for the use in a productive shop environment with WooCommerce .

Three months of development time later, we can say that we find Hamburg has become a real beauty. Bloggers will like the theme as well as business shop operators or owners of conventional websites.

Legal security for online stores

German jurisdiction requires a high level of legal protection for online stores, up to detailed legislative guidelines regarding design issues. So we’ve taken a closer look at this. No. A very, very close look.

We have asked lawyer Thomas Schwenke to test our theme and verify its compliance with German legislation. With positive results! Used with WooCommerce and WooCommerce German Market, theme Hamburg displays all elements of an online store according to legal requirements in Germany.

(Legally secure content obviously can only be provided by shop operators themselves, not by our theme.)

Mobile Shopping

With our new theme Hamburg, we aim to contribute to mobile shopping becoming a more enjoyable experience. Anyone using a reasonably modern browser on their iOS or Android smartphone or tablet will enjoy navigating your responsive shop pages.
